Jordan’s First 3D-Printed Dress

“Ocean Paradox” — Recycled Plastic Fashion Innovation

Student Zaina Banihani designed and created “Ocean Paradox,” a groundbreaking dress made entirely from recycled plastic using 3D printing technology.

Mentored by designer Edelina Joyce, Zaina transformed discarded plastic waste into a wearable art piece that made a powerful statement about sustainability and the future of fashion.

The dress was exhibited at Amman Design Week 2019, held at The Hangar creative space, where it drew significant attention from designers, media, and the public alike.

The project demonstrated how 3D printing can intersect with fashion, education, and environmental awareness — inspiring a new generation of young Jordanian innovators.
