Restoring a Life with 3D Printing

One of the First Surgeries of Its Kind in Jordan

A young man struck by a stray bullet suffered severe facial trauma. 3D printing technology was used to plan and execute a groundbreaking reconstructive surgery.

The team used CT scan data to 3D print an exact replica of the patient’s skull, allowing the surgical team to study the damage in three dimensions and plan the reconstruction with unprecedented precision.

A custom titanium implant was designed directly on the 3D-printed skull model, ensuring a perfect anatomical fit before the patient ever entered the operating room.

The surgery was performed entirely through the mouth — leaving no external scarring. This remarkable approach, one of the first of its kind in Jordan, restored the patient’s facial structure and gave him back his confidence and quality of life.
